Final

I made the rip on my face out of latex, paper towels, toilet paper, and cotton balls. Just like how I made the open wound on Halloween

I tried to make a large view out of blue yarn but I felt it over powered the "pretty" side to much.  I wanted one side to be scary not both.

As you can see I used some liquid, grey shadow to just play with the lines on my face, making sure I had them in the right place.  I am really happy with this rip.  I photographs well and it looks pretty organic, since I followed the lines of my face.

My work station.
First Attempt:
I really liked how the ghost side looked.  The colors were a little off compared to my design, however.  They were too "normal," too warm.  There was not enough blue and my veins were not obvious enough.

I spent too much time on my other side, so the skull was slightly neglected and rushed.  I light the fade of colors in the bone, but the blacks are not full enough and the teeth are not noticeable.

Second Attempt:
1) I used the green and yellow stick to get rid of the dark circles and redness.  However, I tried to make it slightly blotchy to add to the effect.
2) This time around I learned to put the rip on first, so may side were separated from the get go.  The first time I did an allover corrective, which was a waste of time.  Only one side needed it. I also added spots of latex on different spot of my face.  I ripped them to give a more rooted-looking skin texture.  I also roll a few of them to act as veins, this looked a lot more natural.  They did not overpower the makeup unlike the yarn.

3) I went ahead and placed in my skull lines with brown pencil. This time I was trying not to focus on one side, so I forced myself to work on both at the same time.  I also blocked out my eyebrow in this stage.

4) I mixed the base for ghost side.  I wanted it to be unhealthy pale but not  corny Halloween ghost white.
5) I applied it with a brush, so it looked streaky and slightly painted-looking.  I did  pat it down slightly with my hands, however.
6) Next, I mixed the base for the skull. I wanted it to have a vintage, aged feel to it, so instead of white I did a tan.

7) I painted it on like the other side, only slightly heavier.

8)I went in with the first layer of shading.

9) I shaded this side as well.
10) Next layer of shadow, this time darker.   Since I wanted it to look painted, I did not smudge it in much.

11) Second layer of shadow on skull.
12) I powdered my skin side with blue eyeshadow around the edges to look more dead and I used the same eyeshadow to  color the veins.
13) I began to highlight my skull.
14) I placed down a layer of highlight on skin.  Then, I powdered  with white and light-tan eyeshadows to give a more ethereal feel.

15) Next, I focused on my eye. I lined the my waterline with white eyeliner and gave myself a thin, smudged winged-liner with brown.  I also darkened in my eyebrow and elongated it.  This made me look sad and almost a little cartoony.  I really liked this.  It reminds me of Tim Burton.

16) I used started to build up a few layers of shadows on my lid to make this makeup seem more elegant and pretty.  This also made my eye fit better with the makeup.  I do not have a specific method to this, I just sort of wing it. I do have a set color palette.  The colors I use are: blues, peach, browns, and greys.

17) This is the finally eye makeup.  I do wish it ended up being more feminine, but I was afraid it would look out of place. I am pretty happy with it, however.
18) Lastly, I worked on my lips.  I applied the natural lip color sort of haphazardly way.  I then added some dark brown and blue shadow to make them look cold, dry, and dead.  I also shaded in the middle.
Finished ghost side!  I am so happy with this side.  It looks almost exactly how I designed and imagined it to be!

19) I added in the black and used a black liner on my waterline. I must admit, I wish I had black cream paint instead on grease paint. The cream would be more solid.
20) Added some highlights.
21) I put slightly more white on the teeth to make them pop more.
Final version:

I am actually very happy with this makeup overall!
